Andy Thompson

Andy Thompson lives and creates in East Devon, in the South West of England. He works in acrylics and mixed media. Artist statement: My art is growing as I practice. As I look and see - I learn. I still have that element of mischief and refuse to conform and so that mischief finds its way onto my canvases. My children say I see the world in a different way. I do! As well as painting, I am a published poet, a writer of Haiku and a photographer. My art influences range from Kandinsky to Mondrian. From the contents of my head to my eldest son, Oliver. Oliver is an art teacher as well as a painter and I inherited his 'art studio', the shed at the end of our garden when he left home. I prefer my art to speak for itself so to sum it all up in three words? *Thoughtful *Colourful *Textured I hope that you find one of those words somewhere within one of my pieces!
