Rowan

Rowan is an arts centre and forest school for adults with learning disabilities. Since 1984 we have provided a safe, creative, and enriching environment where the arts are used as a tool to bring people together and tackle social exclusion. Rowan is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, over 50 weeks a year.

Rowan provides a range of creative workshops in:

  • Woodwork
  • Ceramics
  • Textiles
  • Print
  • Mixed Media
  • Drama
  • Music
  • Forest School

All our artworks are made by student artists with learning disabilities in collaboration with our tutors. As a result, each piece is unique. All income generated from sales is used to support our work at Rowan.

Become a student artist

We believe that people living with a disability should have the same choice, quality of life, opportunities and aspirations as others and with your support we can continue to make this possible. If you, or someone you know would like to join us – why not become a student artist at Rowan?
